That was my fathers dream plane, but he settled for 1st a surplus Fairchild 24, then a Cessna 120. But the couple of times we saw one at a fly in, he almost drooled when looking at it an speaking with the owners.

    What are you doing today?

I have to get my Wife's Dodge Magnum Cleaned up for the Eyes on Design car show tomorrow. She is pretty exited about it. I just drove 13 hours home yesterday from Mississippi, so I don't feel like it, but it has to be done. And the day I left for the install in Miss. the city finally approved my...

Zeppelin Graf Zeppelin and other ridgid airships

Odd my 1st thought was it looked like a Beer Stein being built on its side, I know its an American airship not a German one.

Can you ID this wrecked aircraft?

With the Liquid Cooled engines, smooth cowling and the exhaust pipes exiting the top side of the leading edge of the wing, I think it is a Arkhangelsky Ar-2 dive bomber. https://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/pages/ar-2/history.html

    Best straight wing jet fighter?

I was going to bring up the CF-100 and the Straight wing versions of the F-84 should also be considered IMO. Also the Dassault Ouragan should be on the list. Unlike the CF-100 (of which I am a fan of) both the F-84 and the Ouragan saw combat.

I had forgotten that Sweden produced DB 605's, they were also used on the 2nd version of the SAAB B-18 if I remember correctly.

That picture gives me shivers! I can't imagine working on those parts or the surrounding areas, I am imagining all the cuts and nicks my hands would have from sharp safety wire ends. :nailbiting:
