Well, never say on the interwebs that you will do something "soon". There are 3 shades here and will need a dark fourth shade behind the wing sweep area. I'll "definitely" do that soon as well. It is hard to notice but the medium color that goes down the side of the intake feels about right.

Well, I'm in a bit of a situation. Since I'm building 2 similar kits, there are a lot of moving parts to keep track of, and I have not used the correct markings for the F-14D. My original idea was to have a hi-vis scheme on the A and low on the D. I have 3 sets of decals and I picked the low-vis A scheme. And it's the end of the build so the "other" F-14 remains to be finished. I will finish this one as an A with Phoenix, Sparrow and Sidewinder and then PROMISE TO DO BETTER NEXT TIME. On to Spitfire!!!

Everything is "mostly" painted. I have landing gear, tanks, and missiles to attach and whatever weathering I can risk. Have to paint the edges of the gear doors red. The nose gear doors are my thinnest plastic card; the mains have to be cut into 3 sections. Instructions call to cut the front door into 4 sections.

This feels a lot like a vintage Heller kit. I have to add another layer of white to the rear part of the main gear well. Missed that in masking.

This is the right gear looking forward. There is a link between the gear and fuselage. This is the left showing the same link from ahead. I can't figure out how that retracts. 😕
