Yep... also the MPC no. 1-4502 1:72 kit may be used for the conversion.

Had the 1/48 Hercules in my younger days, think that I'll stick with (maybe, possibly) the one in 1/72, the 1/48 one is a behemoth!

I agree. Therefore my models are of the 1/72 scale basicly.

Looking at all the Italeri,Airfix, MPC kits I would say there is nothing what would stop me against making the part from scratch. Not very difficult to make it at all.

You also need the three bladed prop, not a major for most but maybe an issue for some. I have the Testor's Italiari 1:48 H model. They did an A/C-130A in 1/72 and 1/48 but not a Roman nose
