Hi: Basic question if I may ask: can someone tell me what the number means that comes after B-17 and the model type (F, G) and before the factory designation? For instance. take “B-17F-30-BO”. What does the “30” signify? Thanks very much, Jennison.

Here's the back of a RO's seat. Notice the reinforced slots for the cushion hooks, reinforced base, and lack of those horizontal attachment strips. I'm far, far, from an expert, but every RO seat I've looked at looks like this. All the B-17 Flight deck seats I've seen have the attachment...

Thank you very much. I have come to the same conclusion after looking at diagrams and parts lists. As for it being a “bomb hook” for any aircraft, the bomb would have to weigh ounces, not pounds, for it to stay in those jaws. Jennison
