I found this great model build Vexillum Militaris - Supermarine Spitfire F Mk 21 – Build and will be looking very closely at his wheel angles, shape of the undercarriage doors, radiator profiles and all other minutiae involved with this build. Just kidding, unless there is something that is...
Any thoughts on cockpit color? I want to go with interior green because the black will hide all the detail. Minister of Procurement; "Paint the cockpits with this new black, it's cheaper". Crew Chief; "But it will look awful when the kids build the model." Here is the sprue for the Land...

This was a more ambitious build then I imagined. It's a plane I'm not that familiar with and the night I picked the decal sheet, I didn't bother to look at my notes. The detail on the main parts is good for the size and the fit is pretty good. Typical 2000's tech. The down side is thin parts...
That's the only way I could see the wheel assembly moving straight forward but I have NEVER heard of a landing gear that has a part that connects and disconnects as the gears cycle up and down. I'd like to have Ward Carroll from youtube explain this. Any navy vets here that know someone who knows?
Usual suspects in my case. I will request an extension but probably won't need it; unless it's nice this weekend; and because there's a "VegFest" (dozens of food trucks) in the park across the street.
Everything is "mostly" painted. I have landing gear, tanks, and missiles to attach and whatever weathering I can risk. Have to paint the edges of the gear doors red. The nose gear doors are my thinnest plastic card; the mains have to be cut into 3 sections. Instructions call to cut the front...
The instructions say "Several machines were equipped with Griffon 85 and contra rotating props. It was necessary to enlarge the rudder area." These were test A/C and not in combat service. After the war they tended to be used by higher ranking officers.

I have been looking forward to this build for quite a while. You may have noticed that I am a complete Spitphile and back in the 80's I built...
Well, I'm in a bit of a situation. Since I'm building 2 similar kits, there are a lot of moving parts to keep track of, and I have not used the correct markings for the F-14D. My original idea was to have a hi-vis scheme on the A and low on the D. I have 3 sets of decals and I picked the...
Well, never say on the interwebs that you will do something "soon". There are 3 shades here and will need a dark fourth shade behind the wing sweep area. I'll "definitely" do that soon as well. It is hard to notice but the medium color that goes down the side of the intake feels about right.
