Brilliant shot of the Hendon Speed Handicap Race on October 4, 1913. W.L. Brock passes the first pylon in his Blériot Type XI-2 50 hp. In the end Brock had to retire from the race. The photographer took this picture from the pylon, sothat he was at the same height as the passing aeroplane !
The picture was published in Flight in a slightly cut version, so a great part to the left has fallen off. Thanks for this original.
