Shown here is a D1A2 Navy Type 94 Carrier Bomber probably over China during the second Sino-Japanese war. At the time of the Pearl Harbor attack the D1A2 had been relegated to second-line units. During 1937 the DIA2 achieved notoriety when aircraft of this type sank the American gunboat, the USS Panay.
