Shown here is one of the 80 SB2A-2 Buccaneer aircraft bought by the US Navy. Along with the above aircraft the US Navy also bought 60 SB2A-3s which featured folding wings and an arrester hook for carrier operations. The US Navy also used the SB2A-1 version as well as the above models. None of these aircraft saw any operational service. Other customers for the Buccaneer were the RAF who were allocated 750 aircraft as the Bermuda Mk.I, the Dutch government ordered 162 aircraft but these were taken over by the US Navy as the SB2A-4 and transferred to the US Marine Corps for use in the training role.
