As far as I am aware No.307 (Polish) squadron operated from RAF Jurby (Isle of Man) from the autumn of 1940. Kirton-in-Lindsay (nr Scunthorpe, Lincs) was indeed a Defiant base but the squadron operating from there was No.264 squadron.
