Shown here is a Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter being launched from the seaplane carrier HMS Pegasus, circa 1917. The crew members are standing on a portable platform section that permitted aircraft to be transferred from the hangar space nelow the goalpost mast. Note that Pegasus is still wearing her wartime dazzle paintwork.
