Curtiss SBC Helldiver

By the time the USA became involved in Word War II, the SBC-3's had become obsolescent, but SBC-4 Helldivers were then in service with US Navy Squadrons VB-8 and VS-8 on baord the USS Hornet and with US Marine Squadron VMO-151.

The top example is a Curtiss SBC-3 Helldiver in 1942 US markings.
The bottom example as an SBC-4 Helldiver of the 1st Aviation Wing, US Marine Corps, based at San Diego (California) in 1942
