Shown here is an American Army chaplain granting absolution to Manfred Pernass before he and his comrades were executed. He and his two comrades belonged to one of the three-man teams Skorzeny sent into the Ardennes battle of December 1944. They were caught in American uniforms on the 18th: tried by Military Court Martial, they were found guilty and sentenced to be shot as spies after being granted the last request of hearing German nurses, POWs in the next cell, sing Christmas carols.
