Roy Chadwick, Avro Enclosed Cockpit Monoplane
The Avro Enclosed Cockpit Monoplane was designed by Roy Chadwick in April 1912. This was the world's first monoplane, and the world's first cabin machine, It had a 35h.p engine and flew to 1,000ft on 17 May 1912. Roy Chadwick stayed with Avro, becoming a world famous designer. His designs included both the Avro Lancaster, and Avro Vulcan bombers.
