Shown here is Hampden Mk.I, XG-Y, (AE148) of No.16 OTU based at Upper Heyford. This aircraft later served with No.408 (Goose) Sqd, RCAF and failed to return from Kiel on the night of 29/30 September, 1941. Skippered by Plt Off W F Hull, RCAF, the aircraft came down 5km (3.1 m) south-west of Odense, Denmark, killing the crew of four.
