Shown here are a trio of Dagger-engined Herefords in flight. The Hereford was used primarily in the training role with No.16 OTU (Operational Training Unit) based at Upper Heyford, Oxon. Another unit was No.14 OTU based at Cottesmore. At least one Heyford was used by the TDU (Torpedo development Unit) at Gsoport, and at least 19 Heyfords were converted to Hampdens by the simple expedient of replacing the Daggers with the Pegasus engine.
