First flown in Jan 1938 the He-100 had no rival for speed (taking the World Speed Record to 463.92mph on 30 March 1939) but the RLM saw no reason for mass production.
Example above after it had been painted in completely fictitious 'unit markings' in 1940 for widely published photographs describing the type as the non-existent 'He-113'.
