Shown here is the destroyer HMS Glowworm underfire and making smoke after encountering German naval forces heading for Trondheim, Norway, on 8 April 1940. After ramming the heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper, she was sunk by gunfire of the cruiser, whose bow is visible in the photo.
