The aircraft in this pic is either a Bf 110D-0 or D-1/R2 fitted with the Dackelbauch (Daschund belly) auxiliary fuel tank. The non-jettisonable fuel tank took the form of a huge ventral blister covered by a fairing constructed of plywood and fabric. It was not used on the D-1/R1 or subsequent versions of the Bf 110D,G or H family.
