The YRB-49A was the final version of the Northrop flying wing bomber. The propulsion system was extensively modified and the aircraft was reconfigured for long-range reconnaissance operations. The YRB-49A first flew on 4 May 1950, but it was not a success and was finally scrapped bringing the flying wing programme to an end. Photo Northrop Grumman
