Shown here are two Beauforts (the one in the foreground was flown by Plt Off. Ralph R. Manning) of No.47 Squadron after the attack on a Axis convoy on 26 October 1942, in which Manning successfully torpedoed the 4,869 ton Italian tanker Proserpina. The tanker was also hit by bombs dropped by a Blenheim Mk.V, flown by maj. Douglas W. Pidsley of No.15 Sqd, SAAF.
