Shown here is a fine shot of a Spitfire LF.Mk.XII undergoing pre-delivery trials somewhere over the UK. This version of the Spitfire was fitted with the low-blown single-stage Griffon Mk.III or IV engine (with different propeller drive ratios), asymetric radiators and four-bladed propeller.
