Shown here is Spitfire Mk.VC, LZ-P of No.66 Sqd on a sortie out of Sumburgh in the late spring of 1943. These aircraft often provided day fighter escort for the small fishing boats known as the 'Shetland Bus' that sailed with agents and saboteurs between the Shetlands islands and German-occupied Norway.
