This photo of the Type VIIC boat U-825, commanded by Oberleutnant der Reserve Gerhard Stolker, was taken on the morning of 11 May 1945 by a Wellington GR.Mk XIV of 172 squadron, flown by Pilot Officer J.N. Wilson from Limavady, N.Ireland. The position was about 150 miles west of the coast of Donegal and the U-boat was heading north. About twenty of the crew are on deck, wearing yellow life-jackets . After its surrender it was towed out of Limavady on 3 January 1946 and sunk by gunfire. Ref: AIR 15/743
