US and Australian cruisers

Shown are US and Australian druisers steaming into Subic Bay, Luzon, Philippine Islands, following exercises sometime in August 1945. The lead ship (in the left centre distance) is either the heavy cruiser HMAS Australia or Shropshire. Next astern is the light cruiser HMAS Hobart, followed by a US Navy 'New Orleans' class heavy cruiser and a US Navy 'Brooklyn' class light cruiser. The pic was taken from another 'brooklyn' class light cruiser, one of whose 152 mm (6 in)/47 triple gun turrets is in the right foreground. Taken from the net.
