Seriously though, Tony, she's looking great, and your reasoning re the weathering/fading of the camouflage makes spot-on sense. Looking forward to seeing the stickers go on!
Cheers,

The Big Guns, so to speak! I quite like the idea of Bob Doe's Mk.I in the Weekend boxing, and as I said Pedro Hanbury although he went on to become a great fighter leader before his death. So many great subjects, so little cash.....
Thanks, Tony! I must say I'm really impressed with the quality of the mouldings and just how comprehensive the kit is.
I know what you mean about being spoiled for choice, though for preference I tend to choose the lesser known aircraft where possible. Unless there's a specific scheme I have in...
Welcome back, dear friends! Here's where the Eduard 1/48 build starts! Hopefully, this one'll reach fruition :D
Obligatory box and sprue shots:
Apologies for the slightly murky phone camera photos, I need to charge the battery in my proper camera! The second set of mouldings will be set aside...
Yes, they do :( - I spent ages trying to fill the redundant lines on an Airfix 1/72 Mustang, but gave it up as a bad job given the panel-line-canals left everywhere else!
Great work, Tony! Its a bit of a shame that Eduard went to the trouble of putting in those rivets when they were flush, so its definitely worthwhile filling them in. She's coming along very nicely.
Cheers,
Mark
Thanks, Tony, interesting stuff! I might well invest in the Shores book as well. It looks like Eduard are going all guns blazing for the Malta Dual Combo edition, and as you say, healthy debate will no doubt ensue
Cheers,
Mark
Its daylight robbery and I find it disgusting - because when I have such a book to sell, no b*gger wants it at any price! Plus, I usually buy just in time for the revised and updated edition to be announced.....
:D
:D
Decals ordered (hopefully!), so with a bit of luck I might actually get this one moving!
I've popped an edit in the first post, as I'm no longer convinced that the camouflage colours were the Dupont equivalents to the RAF MAP colours. I've been trying, so far without luck, to ascertain how many...
Thanks - I think its a much under-rated aircraft. Yes, it was obsolescent at the outbreak or WW2, but the Hawk 75 family did sterling work right through until almost the end of the war in the Far East with the RAF in Burma in the adversest of conditions. The Portuguese Mohawks ultimately met...
It certainly shouldn't show through if its blended in properly, and when I've used it in the past I've always had good results. I think the panel lines are still visible as its under a thin witness coat of paint and I haven't further sanded /polished that fuselage half. Also, even with the best...
