Hi John!
Very well done! Nice representation of the MiG-3. Your metal finish i beautiful. Good and surprising use of the decals. These don't exist in 1:48. So its a challange to get it right.
I would go for the blue undersurface. Using silver only on the nose and undersurface is onlogical. Why didn't they just painted the whole aircraft in silver? Its more logical that they made a field repair and painted the nose silver with the paint they had.
For the aluminium parts, its not bare aluminium. These parts were painted in a aluminium color, like the inside of the pre-war cockpits. Even the aluminium reserve parts were primed when dilivered to the repair units. Aluminium was also accepted as a "winter camouflage" besides MK-7 white. Black...

The strange effect of the wing color can be explained and is not because it is an other color than white. The wooden parts were primed in a darker color than the aluminium parts. The white color has a difference due the primer. The angle of the sun and maybe some rocket smoke from...
Hi John!
Wow! Your MiG is looking very good! Good solution of the wing tip lights, i am going to do that to. How was the fitting of the wing roots, regarding the air intakes? Mine was a true nightmare. I spend days getting the air intakes right by filling them up with styrene ,sanding and...
Hey, good work JKim!

Hey Jkim,
I have the Eduard PE set. On the drawings there are struts on the oil/watercooler flap. Almost all Soviet WWII era aircraft have these kind of "mechanic" on their oil/watercooler flap.
The landing gear leggs are to long. The kit suplied ones are without the weight on it. Cut out...
