Well, I also found this :
code QO-K must be a mistake, because every other source I have found says that Halifax VII NP-689 was QO-M (for example that link in my previous posting, that link fits also to P/O T.Scott) So, what do you think, is Viper legit or not?
This comment is a little late, but Buffalo (at least B-239) really got off the ground :) And my opinion is that it isn't really ugly. Even this is much uglier : Polikarpov I-16 (A lot of those went down by FAF Brewsters)
GRG, both at school and myself, and as for the age question, I'm over 35 years old geezer. So, I'm really an Senior Airman :)
And yes that is LeLv 24 Brewster, Lt. Lauri Pekuri was the last man to fly it, it was shot down 25th of June 1942 and salvaged later (1998) from a lake in Karelia...
Here's a funny story from Finland. Storyteller is "Illu" Juutilainen, plane of course Brewster B-239 : "It was also a "gentleman's traveling plane", for it had a roomy cockpit and room in the fuselage, as we used to say, for a poker gang. We unofficially transported mechanics, spare parts, oil...
Stuka, you forgot Norway - and I read from somewhere that there's a cross in Finnish flag because it's a part of nordic flag tradition. Does that mean tha we have copied that from Sweden? Oh no!
Yes, and last night (or at least the show was broadcasted in Finland last night) Conan apologized all finns (because he got A LOT of postcards from Finland) and that was part of the apology.
Now all Swedish people can send hatemail to Conan. 8) :D
Finnish Bf 109Gs had quite a good kill ratio too :
Bf 109Gs shot down total of 663 enemy aircraft while losing 32 fighters in combat or to anti-aircraft fire.
That makes a kill ratio of 21:1
