Earlier Lockheed (or Martin) carrier aircraft?

I believe the F-35 is Lockheed's first carrier fighter, and the S-3 Viking (ES-3A Shadow) is the firm's first carrier aircraft of any sort, excluding C-130 Hercules (KC-130 "Carrier Onboard Delivery" trials). Lockheed has been making aircraft since 1926. Besides the Model 822 (P-38 with...

Jets and aircraft after the Cold War

If the RCAF Snowbirds are ever looking for a new aircraft, I'd suggest they include the KAI TA-50 in their list. Thoughts on the HAL Twin Engine Deck Based Fighter (TEDBF)?

Poland's new KAI FA-50. Can the KF-21 Boramae be next for Poland? https://defence-industry.eu/commander-of-polish-air-force-takes-test-flight-in-kf-21-fighter-jet-prototype/

Jets and aircraft after the Cold War

Whenever I see a USN Super Bug I think I'll now forever think of those two wounded survivors in the water being killed.

Jets and aircraft after the Cold War

Shenyang J-35 about to launch. Who would have guessed twenty years ago when the F-22 was first introduced, that the first 5th Gen twin engined CATOBAR carrier fighter would be in the Chinese navy...

"All of Vlad's forces and all of Vlad's men, are out to put Humpty together again."

I suggest they start with Finland or Poland. That stomping should be entertaining. If only the Great Gazoo would put the idea of grabbing Vladivostok and the lost territory of Primorsky Krai into Xi's ear.

"All of Vlad's forces and all of Vlad's men, are out to put Humpty together again."

The US and Brits were focused on Afghanistan and Iraq. If only Canada's (sorry) April Glaspie in July 1990, per the transcript had instead of telling Saddam Husain "We have no opinion on your Arab - Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary (of State James) Baker has directed...

True, and I also agreed with your last post and Vietnam War analogy.

"All of Vlad's forces and all of Vlad's men, are out to put Humpty together again."

Well yes, and the Americans drove up massive body-counts in the Vietnam War, killing an estimated eight hundred thousand NVA/VC (about 3–4 times U.S. combat deaths), and yet they still lost. That's mainly my point. From 2022 to present, Ukraine has reportedly killed up to 362k Russian soldiers...

Jets and aircraft after the Cold War

KAI KF-21. Destined to gobble up much of the Western-aligned non-F-35 business for Gen 4.5-5 fighters. That means you SAAB, Dassault and Boeing. https://en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20231016006800315 I have to wonder what the heck Boeing is doing beyond flogging worked over Eagles and Super...

Required headwind for carrier aircraft launch?

"All of Vlad's forces and all of Vlad's men, are out to put Humpty together again."

With all these videos and news we learn how Ukraine's technological advances are killing more Russians. But we never see reports of Ukrainian ground offensives taking back any sizeable territory. If they're killing Russians at such an increasing rate, surely there's less of them on defence?

"All of Vlad's forces and all of Vlad's men, are out to put Humpty together again."

Imagine if in 1939 Poland had this level of military strength vs. today’s Russia or Germany. Neither would get far I think.

"All of Vlad's forces and all of Vlad's men, are out to put Humpty together again."

Are there no honest men in Ukrainian government service? Surely stealing from the nation during times of war is a capital crime worthy of executions? Maybe it's time for Ukraine's women to be assigned these top jobs. There are examples of countries beset with corruption having reduced the...
