    And it should be mentioned that Dresden most certainly had AA batteries.
    Both around the city and around the several airfields.

    What happened in Dresden in February 1945 was apocalyptic.

    It says most of the AA had been relocated to other areas of greater strategic importance. In other words, they moved the AA to areas that were critical to the war. The Germans did not see Dresden as being crucial to the war effort.

    Vonnegut claimed in Slaughterhouse 5 that the camp was firebombed.

    Correction on what Vonnegut wrote about it. He was in Dresden in a slave labor camp, not a POW camp. It's not known whether the Allies knew about the slave labor camp in Dresden.
