Does anyone know what aircraft was involved or have any additional information? Apparently the aircraft crashed into a reef and 24 Navy personnel were killed, including an Admiral.

The WW2 Atlantic aircraft ferrying operation "ATFERO" is well known, and there are lots of references to it on the Internet. I am looking for any information about the ferrying operation called "AMFERO", which I think was the Pacific aircraft ferrying operation. I can't find any information...
