Thanks for the kind comments, it was a fun build once I got the motivation to get on with it. With regards to the aluminium finish I was under the impression that they weren't natural finish but painted silver is that correct?
Well I finally got round to finishing it after a bit of a break from a lack of enthusiasm. Now she's done I better crack on with my 1/72 Fujimi Tomcat that's been unfished for over a year.
Thank you for your kind comments. With regards to the D-Day stripes I looked for pictures on the web but couldn't find one with the stripes so I just have to assume that the manufacturers have researched the markings correctly.
I've never built one of their kits before and found it to be generally good with only a few minor niggles with fit. Overall the detail is good and I enjoyed building it and am happy with the result.
Thanks Airframes, actually the back of the Spit is very, very slightly humped, it's just that although it is very small it is still noticeable. The gear doors are correct as I took them off thinking they were wrong but the other way round was definately incorrect.
Here's my Airfix new mold 1/72 P-51d and Academy's 1/72 Spitfire mk.XIV.
The Airfix kit has great detail and even does some details better than all the others,i.e the little wood wheel on the landing light and the correct wheel bay..shock horror!
The Academy kit may have its faults but it is...
Your right I will probably just have a go at scratch building my own radios. It's about time I tried to add new skills, so we'll see how it goes.
Thank you
