Could it be that the sleeve valve engine would have been particularly well suited to the two-stroke principle due to its lower tolerance for supercharging but higher rpm potential? I am thinking of the RR Crecy and subsequent projects from RR (24 cylinder two-stroke) as well as concepts from...
brianwnz, thanks for posting the front view of the this engine; first time I see the cylinder arrangement of the P 130 (or ML 032), as it was called correctly. As my native language is german perhaps I can help with the one or the other question.
It seems that not all contributors of this blog have read the report in post #1. It describes in great detail why cooling by a (geared) fan may be advantageous in total horsepower consumption compared to a non-fan installation of a radial engine.
MIflyer, is it possible to post the missing part...
As additional information: in Germany there were several attempts to replace the constant pressure combustion chamber of a typical jet engine by a constant volume combustion process to increase the efficieny of the combustion. The Lutz concept was a possible way to achieve this by replacing the...
Cuirassier,
I recommend Kay's book where you will find a detailed description of the Lutz gas generator and its intended applications (5000 hp turboprop and turbojet) as well as construction efforts.

As Calum mentioned the drawing in Wikipedia has nothing...
Sorry, I do not have copies of the original Junkers / OKB plans. My sources are the books "Junkers Flugtriebwerke" by Reinhard Müller and "Flugmotoren und Strahltriebwerke" by Gersdorff et alias, both excellent sources based on original documents and on people involved in the development.
I do not know of a Garrett turbofan but a concept for a turbo compound helicopter engine as an alternative for the typical turboshaft:

Mvdmitri,
thanks, interesting links. In fact the 032 was a Junkers project and its design was finished under soviet occupation in Germany immediatly after the end of the war by Junkers staff. It was a two stroke radial diesel with one variant as a 10 cylinder and a second as a 12 cylinder with...
Great stuft, johnbr, thx for posting. The last drawing in your post #1 shows a turbocompound version with three exhaust turbines. I habe read about this version but have never seen a drawing before.
mvdmitri,
just for clarification regarding your posting #4:
- the motorjet is a BMW project P 3350; P means project, not horsepower (HP); it is doubtful that 15 liter displacement would achieve over 3.000 HP even as a turbocompounded two-stroke like here;
- the turboprop powerplant is special...
Calum,
as you mentioned above - often heard about the fact that american aerospace and engine companies destroyed or threw away documents of their technical archives. It´s a pity and very strange.
By the way - in what price range will your book be?
