'Rainmaker' revival! At least for a short while anyway. I decided to leave out the second planned 'take-off' render from an intended sequence. I've been meaning to depict my Rainmaker model actually making rain, metal rain.
In this reduced size render, my 'Rainmaker' model is seen in the...
Using some reshaped cubes in Hyper Nurbs and the tail section begins to get formed. using a simple plain material for now - to be textured when some detail is added.
Wurger Wayne Little: Thank you.
Something to shoot at! I was toying with the idea of making a tail section of another aircraft to place in a render - the plans shown here are of a S.E.5a. drawn by W Wylam in 1944. The pilot has yet to be given some bones - hence the strange pose in this preview!
Wayne Little: Thank you.
I thought it would be a waste of all the hours spents making UV maps to just confine all that work to one colour scheme for this Fokker. So, here's the start of some new textures.
I've more or less decided to display this new colour scheme Fokker as a scale model...
Wurger: Thank you.
This is the 2nd full render of my Fokker Dr.1 213/17 model.
The sky backdrop was composited in as postwork, helped along by an alpha image from Maxwell Render 1.7.
Wayne Little Catch22: Thank you.
The 1st full render of my Fokker Dr.1 model. Colour scheme depicted is that of 213/17 flown by Ltn. Friedrich Kempf.
This 500,000+ polygon model was made with Cinema4D 9.6 and painted using BodyPaint. Maxwell Render 1.7 used for the materials and render.
Wayne Little: Thank you.
genkideskan: Those are nice links with some good reference images. I like the scope you posted better than the newer version I made so I will make this older type too.
Adding some grime gets underway.
Wayne Little Wurger: Thanks.
genkideskan: Those optical sights look nice but I can't understand what practical purpose they would have served?
Back to this one, I painted the wing streaks using 'Painter' but have thought for some time they could be better. So, with the fuselage I've tried...
Wayne Little Wurger: Thank you. I like that view too, so I have saved the camera details and model position for a final render when the paintings finished. Just started the paint streaking of the fuselage. For the wings I used paint software called 'Painter' but haven't been to keen on my poor...
Wayne Little, Wurger, Gnomey Catch22: Thank you.
Painting the fuselage gets underway. Seen here with some base colours and a baked ambient occlusion used as a dirt mask. The new parts have been split according to material type - dirty alloy, painted alloy, painted steel and cloth surfaces.
Slowly the model is getting closer to completion.
I'm going to use a seperate texture map for most of the fuselage parts so all those components have now been connected into a single mesh. A total of 156 polygon selections were created with these parts - should make creating the UV map...
Wurger, Catch22 Wayne Little: Thank you.
This update is with some tidying up of some parts so that the painting of the fuselage can finally get underway. The main work done is out of sight but time was spent on the upper fusulage metal paneling (don't know the correct name) - splitting into...
genkideskan: Another Fokker Dr1 with what looks like a gunsight fitted and this one looks to have the larger rear lens body similar to the one I made: http://www.fokkerdr1.com/Dr1-413-17_01.jpg
