Builder 2010
Started modeling at age 8. That was 63 years ago (I'm 71). Continue to learn new skills and try new things. In this last year I've mastered resin casting and building scale models in brass. I've built hundreds of plastic kits, a bunch of RC boats, model buildings and structures in 1:48, and 2 RC planes, including a four-engine 1:16 B-17E. In addition to building, I enjoy writing about it in both building threads on forums like this or magazine articles. I have built a number of models for others on commission, since I enjoy the building as much (if not more than the having). I currently have a Revell B-17G with enhancements on the work bench that I'm building for a protege. I also have two kits on the shelf waiting for building, both Trumpeter kits: a 1:350 USS Essex Carrier, and a 1:32 ABM-3 Avenger. I just picked up some Eduard PE for the TBM including engine, exterior and masks. While all this is going on I'm also building a large 39' X 15' (12m X 4.6m) O'gauge model railroad (1:48). It's been a multi-year project with a few more years left to go.
