    British Commonwealth Air Training Plan

And what still survives today, although on my last visit the site had deteriorated significantly. No support buildings survive any longer although when I first visited the site the fire hall and a few others were recognizable. It was kind of strange that first visit the large base ghostly as it...

I'll see what I can do about gettting some photos... There are a number of sites around here (Alberta) and some have several surviving buildings. Here's a couple I found of Vulcan No. 2 Flight Instructors School

    British Commonwealth Air Training Plan

Anyone want to get into this topic. In our area there are several sites remaining from this huge training venture. Which basically allowed the commonwealth to train air crew in a safe environment in Canada, something I consider to have been one of our greatest contributions to winning WWII.

The clippped wing was very cool also. Hmm, so many I dont think there was really a bad Spitfire... But Kinda like them after the Mk IV. Seems like they kinda evolved at that point. Not that I'd turn down any...if someone were to want to donate one to me.

Just checked out under the bridge, It reminds me of the scene in masterpiece theatre's "piece of cake" where a spitfire does a similar thing, although not inverted. Very cool, did anyone else see this series??

Ahhh Yess, I remember in my early aviation days seeing this rare type which was a secret weapon of the russkies. It is clearly a Lawnboyovoshev Type II. I had an encounter with one over the Baltic one day on a mission in my Toro nado. Took several photos, but the Ruskie fingered me and dove away...

    Best Bomber of ww2

My vote is for the Douglas A-26 Invader which had the performance of a fighter and could actually outrun a P-51 It survived WW II to serve in Korea and Veitnam and if you count it... Central America with certain Govt. (Never happened or existed) agencies. The Invader is an awsome aircraft and...
