137 Sqn circa September 1945. Typhoon is SF-B SW473. On the right Denis Luke, stayed in the RAF, flew Tempest 6 with 6 Sqn in ME and later commanded 151Sqn with Javelins in 1961. retired as a Wing Commander.

Well, better late than never. Spurdle's Tempest for most of his time with 80 Sqn was W2-S, EJ687. No photos have come to light and the best ref photos are a set of stills taken from IWM film, shot at Volkel on 11 Oct 44 which show W2-B, G, K and P taking off. They appear in 2nd TAF, Vol 4...
