So it seems stars on wings or stars left off - the choice is yours without hard reference fotos for a particular aircraft.
I wouldnt worry about it. Your models look fine.
I find it immensely interesting that this aircraft has been ignored in the larger scales. The only model in existence is the old Matchbox kit in 1/72, which is now boxed by Revell and molded in China.
It is okay in basic outline, but the details are pitiful and you'll go blind if you try to...
Am looking for colors and markings for these birds. I found an excellent source for the clipped wings these birds sported after the initial batch, but I would like to find the color reference(s) for these.
See there how this sharing of information works? So, by the later war period the little tank emblem wasn't seen, even on the "weisenstaffel" within a group? Much as I like it, I suppose I better leave it off then.
Tanks for the info.
Notice the second one with the diagonal white stripe and little white patch on the tail fin? The planes that accompanied Rudel on his last flight when he surrendered to the Allies had simiar stripes.
Very nice and thank you very much!
Thanks! There are a couple of different "Alpha" ones there. Unlike most other Lutwaffe units, the StkGeschwaders often only marked the plane with the individual Alpha designator.
All the others are different renderings of Rudels craft.
Thanks again.
I'd like to find some different marking options besides Rudels Stuka. THere are two on the profiles section (THANKS!) and I was wondering if anyone has any links to, or fotos of, some others.
Thanks Again
On the axis side, full operational status of Do335's Ta 152's would make great speculative fodder, albeit the sad footnotes of allied aircrews.
The Do335 doesnt count, as it had TWO engines instead of one. The Ta-152 had performance to spare and it's generally conceded that it could outfly any...
I think this really comes down to two choices, so I'll vote for the MIG. While the Sabre had much more press exposure in combat, what we know of the MIG's indicate that it was pilot skill that truly made the difference.
Had the same aircraft been reversed, ie, Sabre being ComBloc and Mig being...
Depends on your perspective. I agree, heavy lifting by a smallish airframe is a wondrous feat. Ive always loved the A-4 for that. Can't you just see the little A-4 festooned with an full ordnance load? Awesome. But, this really is a highly subjective question, dont you think?
Remember David...
Original question:
Didnt ask how long it stayed in service, which country it flew for or other notable details, ad nauseum. I vote Shinden, or my fall back, Bearcat. "Zooooom!"
Skyraider, eat your heart out.
I scored the 1:48 ICM kit of this off ebay the other day. I was hoping to hound up some photos of the cockpit(s), as this one begs for some detailing. Maybe the Klimov in the nose might be nice too, since the kit comes with a basic engine. You Super Foto guys always astound me with the pics you...
Agreed. Overheating in ground handling WAS an identified shortcoming of the J7W1, along with the stalky undercarriage and the dreaded torque roll at full throttle from the combination of drive shaft/engine/massive prop. But, these things were not insurmountable and even the Mersu (Messerschmidt...
