    'Spirit of Kent'

Thanks for that, resulted in a 2 hour youtube session, hunting down low level flypasts and spitfire displays!

    P38 Nose Weight

Hi everyone, sorry about my delayed reply, my internet connection has been disabled for a few days. Great suggestions, all very creative. I think I will go for the idea of mounting it to a wooden base - elegant and subtle. Thank you people :)

    P38 Nose Weight

You guessed it - forgot to put a weight in the nose. 1/72 Revell Model. Any Ideas? It's been shelved for months now, partly because I was so disappointed with myself for forgetting to do it. I'd like to know, do I need to perform surgery? Should I just scrap it? What could I use as a weight...

Bob Stanford Tuck (Fly For Your Life)

Could I request to have this moved back to the aviation forum, for more traffic, at least temporarily? Although reading the book prompted the thread, I am interested in hearing actual details about Bob Tuck and his exploits.

Bob Stanford Tuck (Fly For Your Life)

Morning all. I'm approaching the end of the book 'Fly For Your Life' the story of Stanford. For those who have read and possibly researched it, I would like to know of any areas that are exaggerated or have been doubted/proven incorrect, if any. The reason I ask is because I was simply...

Story Of Heroism - The trapped belly turret gunner

Very good points, that I hadn't considered. What an evil turn of events to be in that situation where all options are exhausted, and you are forced to kill your friend and comerade. Sobering thought.

Story Of Heroism - The trapped belly turret gunner

Thanks for the information Ratsel. Any ideas why they wouldn't have tried to lower the landing gear manually, if the turret was indeed a lost cause? As has been said, the turret gunner would normally leave the turret as soon as permitted (no fighters, over the channel), so i'm thinking that...

Story Of Heroism - The trapped belly turret gunner

As heart wrenching as these memories are, I have to wonder why they didn't use the manual wheel crank, or try shutting down other systems to coax back hydrolic power or something. Smash the damn turret with an extinguisher or aim a .50 at it. :( I wonder how you tell a man he is about to die...

Mid-air collision at Duxford- Mustang lost/ Skyraider damaged!

Yeah i was so disappointed to read that the P47G was not yet ready; it's a proper beauty though - a Razorback and that paint scheme gets my juices flowing! I was not quite near the land warfare hall - more like near the static f16(?) where the road splits, about 2 mins up from the AAM, sitting...

352nd Fighter Group "Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney" Build

Yeah I saw the support first-hand in this thread - really incredible, so kind and knowledgable. I actually have an unfinished 1/72 P38 that I may return to now. BTW, what do the aircraft icons with banners signify in some signatures? (Sorry it's OT. please pm if worried it will go off track).

I'll need them too, although i don't think i'll be brave enough to post any of my works - they are that low quality. I just love the experience.

Just read this thread from start to finish - very cool, I am now inspired to get modelling again.
