perhaps a stupid question, but did you try microsol?? It's a softner solution..

My advice would be to always mask your canopys with masking tape.
It'll take you about half an hour. maybe an hour to get it right (depends on the model you have to mask) but the result you get after you airbrushed your masked canopy is really stunning.
tip: De phases should be
- masking...
the thing probably is the stuff you thin with..
As mentioned before, the paint dries whilst in the air, so you need a thinner that doesn't dry out so quickly.
Further than that i reallly cant help you since i use only acrylics. Really can recomend you that as well.. just thin it with water...
