For example..................... when the usa went from The Wildcat to The Hellcat. Where does the carrier go to get the new aircraft.? And how do the pilots "learn" to fly the new planes.? Do they go to a base somewhere that has instructors.? Thank You

    German Fighter Nomenclature

Funny, your last sentence. I remember watching "The Longest Day" the 1962 Zanuck movie. One of the German Generals is arguing on the phone with (I Guess) the ranking Luftwaffe Pilot in Normandy. He complains to the general that all he has at his disposal is one other pilot and "Two Crates"...

    Fuel Transport

Yeah.....thank you. I am 100% ignorant about the ability of The Wehrmacht to move stuff by train once they crossed the border deeper into Russia. I understand the guage was different and that the Russian Army must have attempted to sabotage SOME of it at least.?

P40 Vs all other fighters in Europe

What was lacking in the P-40 that made the Allies decide not to upgrade it with a Merlin Engine.? Or maybe it was done and the P-40 proved wanting in some area(s).? Thank You

Allison and Merlin in a P-51

Did the P-38 have problems or issues with its turbo system throughout the war. Or did they just have troubles making it work at the wars beginning.? Thank Yiou

Allison and Merlin in a P-51

Was that in any plane other than the P-38.?

Allison and Merlin in a P-51

Yeah, i was think "Economy" along the lines of bomber escort to Berlin........stuff like that. The reason videos always give for the P-51, with Merlin, saving the day for The 8th Air Force.
