    ID Help ...Blisters???

I'm in Nor-Kal. These came from the Tracy area. The same fella had nose gear from a Neptune, huge, and an F86 ejection seat (?) that I tried to weasel out of him. When he past 10 years ago all the treasure went to the scrap heap in the sky :( . He also had 2 barns full of Honda Trail 50's, 90's...

    ID Help ...Blisters???

Thanks, looks possible. They must both be for the starboard side as the photo doesn't show the circular vent portal (or reinforcing ribs). PAX

    ID Help ...Blisters???

Two pieces but I think they are the same side. If I turn them facing the same way the vent port is in the same location, unless it didn't matter if the vent was up on one side and down on the other. They are symmetrical to each other. PAX

    ID Help ...Blisters???

At the opening, flat on the ground at the aluminum rib they're 42" wide and 18 " high. I don't think they're part of a turret because they're not symmetrically half and entirely plexiglass. Decades of "occasional" internet sleuthing has the PBY as the most likely suspect. PAX

    ID Help ...Blisters???

Hi Fellas, I've had these "blisters" over 40 years and never knew what they were actually or what aircraft they fit. They're not quite a half, a little more, stenciled mid point "300" - "320" and "ejection pull here". But there's vents so they're not from something pressurized. My guess was...

    Nuuumannn's quick trip to Reno!

Thanks G . When I shot Reno in '86, on the last evening I was wandering around trying to wrap up my affairs, when I caught some of the Dreadnaught mechanics between libations and thought I'd be able to get a quick interview with one. I asked him if they used any special equipment or...

Blimp Hanger in Orange County catches fire!

They could have lit them anywhere, but my vote is for Moffet only because I'm from that part of the country. PAX

    Nuuumannn's quick trip to Reno!

Again, some great stuff Grant. When I shot "The Gathering Of Warbirds" in '86 at Shafter, one of my cameramen, Jim Heldreth (Corregidor, Bataan, Nagasaki survivor), shot out of the nose of Heavenly Body making some early morning passes with a AVG marked Flying Tiger P40. Later during the...

    Nuuumannn's quick trip to Reno!

The Tiger is more of a touring car although mine is running a '67 HiPo K code 289 out of a Shellby fastback. I've had heavy iron too, 390ci AMXs, and the Yin & Yang of it all is I'm also an air-cooled VW builder. I built the first Baja in Alameda County and have owned many bugs and buses. After...

    Nuuumannn's quick trip to Reno!

At our strip, Ag Cat in fore ground, Air Tractor 602 by hanger. See post #140, PAX B model 600HP P&W Cats at my spring gig in Westly CA, Valley Ag. Right after this picture was taken this ship had a wire strike, the pilot Saun, cut himself out of the rig and crawled away just as it burst into...
