    Which theater of War Would you choose for flying?

    The Pacific. I'm an Army brat and dad was stationed in Hawaii when I was a little guy. I remember us going to Battle Ship row listening to dad tell of the attack there in 41. The Pacific has held my interest ever since.

    I was an AME and had been told the P-3 fire extinguishing system to the engines could be a bear to work on. I was in tailhooks my intire enlistment, don't know what would have been harder to work on.

    Another new guy

    I was on active duty in the Naval reserve for seven years. Five years stationed at NAS Dallas attatched to VF-202 F-4s Two years at NAS Cecil Field (JacksonVille Fl.) attatched to VA-203 A-7s Honorable discharge from the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) in 1991.

    The A-7E Corsair had the Stencil ejection seat in them. I worked on the seat it self. We had to do 440 day inspections on them. That would involve removing the canopy and de-arming the seat and removing it from the aircraft. Once in the shop we would test the different components on the seat...

    I was a "Pantom Phixer" for five years and worked on the A-7 the Corsair for two years in the Navy. I worked on the egress and environmental systems.

    Another new guy

    Found this site this morning just "surfing". I like warbirds and have some years. I'm not an expert nor a pilot. I did work on the F-4 Phantom while in the service and fell in love with the aircraft. Here I hope to learn more about the planes that stir such passon in those who flew, worked...
