I heard about the Von Trapps, just wished it was told in a more...realistic sense. Heard somewhere that the actor who played the father wasn't too proud of the movie. Anyway, definitely South Pacific, GG. I read a few memoirs/histories about the Marines during the war, and most of them stated...

And I'll let you guys know when his teeth get cracked. :)

Worst film for me? I'm going with "The Sound of Music." Just before the greatest war in history started, a British diplomatic family decided that the best way to prepare was to break out every minutes into song. :p

Hey guys, How's everyone? Sorry it's been awhile posting. Life's been busy for me. I hope you all are doing well. Anyway, I found this song over the summer, and its pretty much about the Eastern Front, called "Wait for Me and I'll Come Back." This is a poem by Konstantin Simonov, and...

Thanks, RA! I'll remember this when I get the chance to teach full-time. :)

:salute: Well said, EG.

Thank you for the information, everybody! It's very informative! I was asking because my professor was saying that the same thing could happen to the US, in one possible future. I figured it was a good idea to get some background information, first-hehe no deliberate attempt at starting anything...

I'm with syscom and Njaco on this one. By September, the Allies were running low on supplies. There was just enough supplies left for one more major push at this time. If were thinking of Market-Garden, it did offer a way into the Ruhr Valley in a quick manner-provided that everything went...

Good post, Syscom. There were a lot of things McClellan could have done to end the war quickly. Personally, I think that was one of the few times where the president has a better strategic picture of the war than does the general in charge. If we had a president other than Lincoln, I can't...

Hey everyone! So, Vassili and I graduated this spring! We each did a thesis. He did his on Singapore, so I figured I should put mine up to. This is about the Vietnam War, and the perception from some of its veterans. Feel free to read it, let me know how I did. This should be the final copy...

Ah no. :salute:

Hey everyone! I don't post regularly alot anymore, but I hope your all doing good. If anyone is interested in the 1930's English Political society, and the leadup to WW2, I recommend "Troublesome Young Men" by Lynne Olson. She does a great job in describing how other MP's in Great Britain...
