I grew up on an island in the North Atlantic Ocean and because of brutal winter weather, spent a lot of time practising hobbies such as scale model building, model rocketry, electronics, and reading.
I started building model airplanes, and other types, in 1972 and was active in the hobby until 1985. I started up again in 2007 and have focused almost exclusively on WWII aircraft. I Like distinctive looking machines, experimental or ground breaking designs, and aircraft that represent significant contributions to aviation.
As important as the quality to me, is the accuracy of my models, from the correct colours and markings, to the proper equipment and armament for the specific aircraft I'm building. I sped more time researching, sometimes, than building, depending on the availability of detailed records and photographs.
I am accumulating historic Canadian Military aircraft, but appreciate the diversity of WWII warbirds, Allied and Axis.
