many restorations are already almost complete rebuilds any way.They're restoring planes now that would've been impossible to restore 10 to 20 years ago. Cost and lack of origional engines has always been the main problems blocking new builds but if you have enough money you can build just about...
I chose the corsair because it was the most versatile fighter in the Pacific it was a great fighter and an excellent ground attack fighter (Marine corp pilots wrote the book on CAS.) It also had a longer service life than any of the other aircraft listed.
They also lost one before the F-117 was made public(that story involves a major recovery involving explosives and a cover story) and one was shot down over Yugoslavia back in the nineties those are the only three I know of but there may have been more.
