My pardon if there's already a discussion on this, and I've been away for quite awhile. I am now reading The Star Of Africa by Colin D. Heaton and Anne-Marie Lewis about the German ace in Africa Hans Joachim Marseille. This guy was a rouge, but very good with a fighter plane just like Greg...
I just finished reading this book; great story. I found the audio book at the library and was listening to it as I was traveling to and from Las Vegas a couple of months ago and decided to purchase the book from B&N.
I'm reminded of a story I once read about The Japanese Ace Saburo Sakai who...
I visited the Midway on a trip to San Diego in August 2006. Would recommend this to anyone traveling there. The admission then was $15.00, but after being up and down and all along the carrier that admission price didn't seem so high. Some good places to eat in that area too.
I know that the RAF was using the P-40, the RAF version being known as the Kittyhawk if I'm correct on this. Was it actually used in the Battle Of Britain? I believe they were in North Africa and have wondered what success it had vs. the German 109's. Didn't USAAF units also fly the P-40 in the...
A friend sent this to me. Also has some vintage music for those into 40's music.

My pardon if this has been posted here previously.
Wish I remember the episode title; it's probably on YouTube. He did some kind of maneuver that put the Zero's right in front of him and were shot down, and this was a Dauntless, a dive bomber.
Is this from Air Combat - where a pilot ( and not the rear gunner) in I believe a Dauntless managed to shoot down at least one Zero, and while is plane was damaged? I did see this episode.
I've heard different things about how the P-38 matched up to the FW190 and Me109. Some material states that the P-38 was inferior in most ways to both and others say the opposite.
The Hellcat and Corsair which saw service in the Pacific - as far as I know. How would these have matched up to the German Messerschmidt 109 and FW-190. Always wondered about this.
Got an email from a friend with the news about Gunther Rall. Also this interesting video with Rall and four former American WWII pilots:
