Do 335 should be able to fill quite a few roles nicely, especially as interceptor.
Probably would have made a decent night fighter as well.
Good armament options and possibility for fuel as well, if I remember correctly.

I think it was well worth the money, even if I would have liked even more bombers per wave.....which would have choked my gfx engine back then. And now too I suppose.
Hard to put the finger on why I liked it so, but I did enjoy the scrap fighting btwn formations of 4-8 planes (anti-Jabo)...

I suppose a quad 20mm can be quite damaging for a sub even if one would start firing, say, a kilometer away. Provided one has a reasonably large ammo supply and gets the fall of shot proper, one might perhaps hit the boat with a few percent of the rounds during those 5-10 seconds.
