    Me262 vs. P-80

The 262's 30mm cannon would have been a major short coming against the F-80's .50 guns. Such low muzzle velocity would have seriously affected the range and hit probability. The F-80 would have swept the skies.

    Daimler-Benz DB 605 Oil System...I Don't Understand

Well weapon packaging must have been of some concern. How many non-combat aircraft have use the inverted Vee configuration? Did the Merlin powered HA-1112 still have cowl guns? It didn't have the hub cannon.

    Daimler-Benz DB 605 Oil System...I Don't Understand

Funny but not surprising that this style of engine has basically disappeared since the end of WW2. It's main advantage had to be cowl gun placement, no Spitfires of Hurricanes with cowl guns. I'm pretty sure that when the engine was running any oil collecting on the back side of the piston would...

P-38 Lightning vs P-51 Mustang: Which was the Better Fighter?

The B-25 was a relative bargain compared to the likes of the B-26! The B-26 was one pretty pricey twin engine bomber. Oh, and I voted for neither, both were awesome fighters and had their strong points in my opinion. The concentrated guns on the P-38 kind of appeal to me.

    The Forum's Favorite WW2 Aircraft?

The sole vote for the FW 200 Condor here! I have always had a thing for the Condor, that gondola is right sexy! Wouldn't have wanted to be on one though!!

Which is the best-looking Japanese fighter of WWII?

For me a close call between the Ki-61 and Ki-84. No votes for the Ki-44?????? That thing looked like a pumped up FW-190!

If you were a pilot in ww2 which plane would you want to fly

Drive It like you stole It! Some report 6 .50's some say 8 .50's. Shot down several ME-262's. Some reports of 507 mph using emergency power. Even 470 is moving. Not too shabby for such a heavily armored fighter.

If you were a pilot in ww2 which plane would you want to fly

A Corsair faster than my P-47M?? ;-) Lets Drag, Eight 50's and 500 mph, pretty impressive! I'm a Texan so it's got to be a US or British plane. Not to fly, but the FW 200 is one of my favorite WW2 aircraft.

WWII's ugliest fighter (of these options)

The Skua should be probably replaced with the Roc. I think the Roc was uglier than the Skua, if that's possible!

WWII's ugliest fighter (of these options)

Hi, new on here. I was going to pick the I-16 until I saw the Skua on the list! What's eye opening is some of the others picked as ugly. Mustang????????? Whirlwind?????? Hurricane???? F4U??? Zero???
