WWII Aircraft Dump Rukuhia, Hamilton, New Zealand

I remember seeing aircraft at the airfield when I was a kid, some 60 odd years ago. All gone now, melted down for scrap.

    Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle

My father flew with 297 Squadron in Whitley, Stirling, Halifax and Albemarle aircraft. He towed gliders and dropped para's on both D-Day and Arnhem. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Opg1YfGcC0s View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeYFISJWhCw

    Rukahia Aircraft Dump Late 60's

Modern day Hamilton Airport New Zealand. This photograph only show a small part of what I saw as a teen. The USAAF flew aircraft in from the islands and dumped them here. Some still had ammunition in their weapons. All the aircraft were broken up and recycled. In todays terms, a fortune was...

    Armstrong-Whitworth A.W.41 Albemarle

My father flew in these aircraft, along with others, during WWII. On D-Day he was involved with dropping paratroops and gliders. I have been unable to complete my collection of videos of the aircraft he flew in as I have only a very short video of the Albemarle. I would appreciate information as...

Iranian EWAC IL76 caught on video falling out of the sky

The aircraft that crashed was not an Iranian AF AWACS, but a Tupolev Tu-154 of Caspian Airlines which crashed near the Qazvin Iran. It appears that the aircraft flew through the Iranian AF C-130 Hercules' jet wash, and the airline pilot lost control as it rolled onto its back. 168 on board were...

    Me-109 Low Pass Video

I can tune the radio to hear music, I cannot do the same to hear aero engines. Great construction shots, better than the aero shot. Good attempt, but fell a little short of being rememberable.

    Peter Jackson's Lancaster

Ok Airframes, being a colonial, not familiar with the area around Scampton. Not a lot of flat land around this country.

    Peter Jackson's Lancaster

Airframes, you need to take a little more water with what you drink. If you think they are hills behind Scampton you have had one too many. Those are the lower slopes of the Rimatuka Ranges that form the barrier between Wellington, and the Wairarapa in New Zealand. On another note; The...

    Peter Jackson's Lancaster

Peter Jackson's model of an Avro Lancaster at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton, New Zealand. This model was made in China (where else) of steel and fibreglass. This it the first time it has been erected. Maybe the colour remake of the Dam Busters is still on the cards, well hopefully.
