I think you are right! I was looking at the light part not the dark area, definitely looks like the 64th

The Indonesians recovered some abandoned Ki-43s and put them into service postwar, this one is made from 2 separate aircraft, hence the paint difference. It was planned to use this aircraft in a strike group against Dutch positions but mechanical issues prevented it from taking part in the strike.

Sgt. Abe crashed landed on Amami Oshima due to "aircraft failure'' (google translate :/ ) . He suffered a head injury but returned to service in Sasebo by ship via Koniya Base after being treated.

Ki-43s were tested with skis in Manchuria. I can't find much more info than that as of now.
